VFF President Lambert Maltok and Coach Emerson Alcantara have signed the documents sealing a two year contract with the Vanuatu Football Federation.
Mr. Maltok and Coach Emerson have been talking about the idea of the Brazilian coming over to Vanuatu for over five years.
The signing today has sealed a long time dream for Mr. Maltok to add Brazilian flavor in to Vanuatu football.
“We have come a long way, and after our successful program in getting at least one player in Brian Kaltak now playing professional football, I believe we need to add some flavor into our football, and we are glad the Brazilian federation has given their endorsement for Emerson to finally join Vanuatu football federation”, Mr. Maltok says.
On his part Coach Emerson says “I believe God has sent me here. I see a lot of similarities between Brazil and Vanuatu. I am ready 24 hours to help develop Vanuatu children to becoming professional players, so that they can help their families, and the country”.
While his main work will be centered at the VFF Center for High Performance at Fresh Water football ground, VFF has assigned Coach Emerson to take charge of the national men’s U16 squad. He will be assisted by Kaison Maki.
Emerson and Kaison are already in to getting the national U16 team prepared for the upcoming OFC tournament in Fiji come January 2023.
They are being supported by the VFF Technical and Coaching departments.
