On October 28th, the Senior C Licence course commenced at Freshwater Stadium. This three-day program runs daily from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and is specifically designed for coaches affiliated with Port Vila League. Upon completion, participants will earn a C Licence accredited by the OFC. The course began with opening remarks from Harry Atisson, the President of the Port Vila Football Association.

Vanuatu National Teams Head Coach Juliano Schmeling is crucial in leading the course. As an advocate for the program, he began the first day with ice-breaking activities and introduced teaching methods. During the session, Juliano asked participants: What is most important when learning a new technique? One of the coaches highlighted that repetition of the basics is crucial for mastering skills.

After lunch, participants observed the national team’s training session, which takes place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, to share their insights.

Under the guidance of Peter Takaro, the VFF Technical Director, participants were divided into four groups. Coaches utilized the workbook and resource book from OFC to share their opinions and experiences.

The day concluded with practical sessions at the stadium. They discussed the day’s lessons, exchanged insights, built camaraderie, and gained new perspectives for their coaching roles.
