The Vanuatu Football Federation (VFF) technical director, Peter Tagaro confirmed that OFC Coaching courses is also a pathway for individuals interested in becoming a full time coach professional.
With a lot of coaches throughout the country having two jobs, such programs can benefit participants in focusing on Coaching programs as a full time profession.
It comes as this week, VFF is carrying out an Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) senior C-License coaching course at the Teouma Academy complex.
The course brought together all Member Associations coaches participating in the recent VFF National Leagues which ended last weekend and it is facilitated by the VFF technical director and B-License coach, Joel Rarua.

He said that it is a decision taken by the executive with an objective to provide effective coaching programs within all respective MAs.
“A C-license coach comes with a lot of requirements as well. It is a pathway for participants to enter an MA senior and to the next stage as well.
“Our theory sessions include Coaching process, leadership and coaching process trainings. It is a step forward in building the capacity of coaches and our job is to provide assistance into their knowledge as well.
The VFF technical director is encouraging all MAs within country to attend such courses as VFF is ready to assist any MAs in their provinces to carry out courses also. He further stated that C-license is active for four years and can be renewed after the period.
“Once the course is finished, we will be assessing all participants within their programs so we can later certify them with a C-license certificate. It is a priority for all MA coaches to participate in such course to upgrade their capacity and VFF is prepared to assist.
B-License coach, Rarua said that around 16 MA coaches are attending including one team club representative. He said that it is a right time to host such trainings as all MA’s are in Port Vila participating in the VFF National League.
“This course will allow MA coaches to provide competitive competitions in the future. There are still few courses along the way and if anyone is interested in full time coaching, they can liaise with their MAs so they can confirm their participation as well.
Sanma women’s coach, Juliette Rorokos said that she is happy to participate in the program. She mentioned that such course is of high standard and she is learning a lot as well. She hopes to bring back the learning she gained and ensure a productive approach into the women’s league within her association.

Mr Tom Manses, said that he has learned a lot of new things as well. He said even though you can read a soccer game but there a lot of requirements a coach needs to ensure a productive coaching program rolled out for his or her team.
