Hungai to play his last international tournament

One of the country’s greatest ever futsal players Ben Hungai will likely play his last international tournament this week at the 2019 OFC Futsal Nations Cup in New Caledonia.

Hungai will be remembered for many achievement in the local league and the national team and was named a star by Loop in 2016 match when Vanuatu beat New Caledonia 6-3 in the OFC futsal Championship in Fiji.

Featured in the OFC ISSUU publication in 2016.

Back home, Hungai plays for Huka FC, a local futsal club founded by the Quai family, and he joins the squad with two more boys from Huka.

Hungai’s leadership in sports with the experience made him the best captain and he was always leading the national team in competitions including being captain of Vanuatu in 2017 Melanesian Futsal tournament in Fiji.

Ben Hungai comes from the Island of Paama in the Malampa Province.
