Inspiring the Next Generation: Football in Vanuatu’s Schools

Pikinini

On November 5th, the VFF launched its Youth Development in the School Program to bring football to young students across Vanuatu. As part of this initiative, VFF coaches visit elementary schools to introduce Pikinini (children) to the sport, sparking their interest in football and encouraging them to play.

On the morning of November 6th, our team visited Freshwater Bilingual School, where we enjoyed a lively football session with students aged 10 to 12. Emerson Alcântara, who leads this program, expressed his excitement: “We hope to inspire Pikinini and build their passion for football.”

We invite these young players to join our VFF Legacy Program every Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 AM at Freshwater Stadium. Emerson smiles and adds, “These kids have so much energy!”

Stay tuned as we continue to bring football to schools across the region, inspiring the next generation of players!
