It Comes Down to a Four Nations Battle for the Grand Final and Hope for the 2024 Title

New Zealand, Vanuatu, Fiji, and Tahiti are already in Port Vila, and the ‘four nations’ battle for the grand final of the 2024 OFC Nations Cup begins on Thursday, 27 June, with two Semi-Final matches.

According to the tournament format, New Zealand, who finished top of Group A, will play Group B runners-up Tahiti in the first semi-final match at 11 AM on Thursday. Group B leaders Fiji will take on Group A runners-up Vanuatu in the second semi-final at 3 PM.

Two Group B teams, Fiji and Tahiti, have arrived and settled safely in their hotels in Port Vila. After a day’s rest and recovery from their last group game on Saturday, both teams are already back on the training grounds on Tuesday, 25 June.

Personnel from the OFC Competitions Management and Media departments have been collaborating with their local counterparts and the local organizing committee since the second week of June. Even though the LOC2 in Santo was ceased (following the unfortunate issues with our national airline, which led to the decision by OFC to move the Group B matches to Suva), VFF is pleased that some volunteers from Santo, as well as leaders from our local member associations, are here in Port Vila to join us in hosting the Eleventh Edition of the OFC Nations Cup event.

VFF also acknowledges the support of our government and other stakeholders, including the City Council of Port Vila, the Fresh Water Community, and the local media.

We thank the Head of State and those state ministers and senior public and civil servants who took time off their work to join us, along with thousands of football fans, at the VFF Fresh Water Stadium to celebrate the 2024 OFC Nations Cup games and our 90 Years of Football in Vanuatu.

As we look forward to the semi-final matches on Thursday, 27 June, VFF encourages fans to come out to the VFF Stadium with the flags and colors of their favorite teams.

Let’s celebrate Football in our unique ‘island ways’ and in accordance with the FIFA Rules of the Game.
