Tournament Information
320 youth players with coaches and officials from 4 provinces in the Vanuatu Football Federation Southern Region zone will be at the opening of the VFF National Youth League at Freswota Park today.
VFF has zoned the 82 islands and 6 provinces of Vanuatu into 8 Member Associations and 2 conferences – Northern and Southern Region, and the tournament regulates a total of 640 players participating in the competition this year.
The Group B of the Southern Region boys and girls are Malampa, Shefa, Port Vila and Tafea Football Associations, and will play the preliminary stage of the Youth League Championship at the VFF Academy field starting this week from 20-22 November.
Each Member Association has registered 20 male and 20 female players in the U15 and U17 category.
Epi High School is representing Shefa Football Association, Onesua Presbyterian College is representing Port Vila.
Vanuatu Football Federation has engaged Freswota School to accommodate all the 160 boys and 160 girls with a total of 8 officials with mostly C License certification coaches and are trained teachers, accompanying the youths.
In Port Vila, VFF has organised land transport, food and other logistics to ensure players are in form to compete in the tournament and is crucial for the National Team coaches to assess players and select the next intake of the National Football Academy.
The Northern Region preliminary stage will be played from 25-27 November at the Luganville Soccer City Stadium.
