Munster announces first squad

The Vanuatu Football Federation national coach Paul Munster has announced his first squad to play Solomon Islands on Monday 18th at Lawson Tama Stadium.

The squad has players from Galaxy FC, Ifira Blackbird, Erakor Golden Star, Shepherds United and players like Azariah SOROMON in New Zealand, Brian KALTACK in Auckland City FC and and Mitch COOPER from Australia.

“We came with a tight list and expect to grow the team in the coming weeks preparing for the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa”, he said.

The Vanuatu national side and Solomon Islands will meet on Monday 18th to decide who is in top form after their last meeting in 2017 when Vanuatu won 3-2.

Solomon Islands has Fiji based players like Benjamin Totori in Lautoka FC, Gagame Feni in Suva FC, Michael Boso from Suva FC, and Dennis Ifunaoa in Labasa FC and Auckland City forward Micah Lea’alafa is expected to joing the team this week.

Munster said he is happy to play Solomon because he want to assess the boys and the team.

“It is more about seeing the boys play in person and I want to assess them and see what levels they are at”.

“I’ve been watching the league games and trying to get the boys out to the international level under my intense training to raise the level of the competition in our local league”, Munster points out.
