After three months of intense preparation leading up to the OFC Futsal World Cup Qualifiers in October, the National Men’s Senior Futsal Team, known as “The Gideons,” has revealed their final squad. This marks the culmination of an extensive training period, with the Pre-Squad training taking place from May to the end of June.
Following two months of rigorous pre-squad training, the team management is delighted to announce the official list of players who will train and camp together. The team is also scheduled to participate in several international friendlies in the coming weeks, a valuable opportunity to fine-tune their skills before the qualifiers in October.
The final squad comprises a total of 9 senior players, who have displayed their talent and dedication in previous international tournaments. Additionally, the team includes 5 new players who have been selected to be part of the final squad. Notably, 3 players have successfully made their way into the squad from the Assencion Futsal Club in Santo LFA.
In addition to the core squad, the team management has also chosen a group of standby players who will be ready to step in if any player faces injuries, disciplinary issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.
The nation holds high expectations for this formidable squad, believing in their abilities and unity on the field. With a combination of experienced players and fresh talent, “The Gideons” are determined to give their best performance and secure a spot in the prestigious OFC Futsal World Cup. The entire country stands behind the team, cheering them on to success in the upcoming qualifiers.
