OFC Women’s Nations Cup will be played in Suva in July

The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) has announced information regarding the OFC Women’s Nations Cup 2022.

The OFC Competitions Department confirms the competition dates is from 13-30 July 2022 in Suva, Fiji.

There are 9 participating teams which are Cook Islands, Fiji, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tonga, and Vanuatu.

The format groups stage with 3 groups of 3 teams, Quarter-Finals, Semi-final, 3rd and 4th play-off, and the Final.

The winner of the final will qualify for the Play-off for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023.

The official draw will take place at the OFC Headquarters in Auckland on Tuesday 10 May 2022 and the draw will be conducted as per the OFC seeding and draw procedures.

The 9 teams will be seeded based on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking of 25 March 2022.

Team Vanuatu has started training and will depart next month to Adelaide where they will play some matches in Australia before flying over to Fiji in July for the tournament.
