The Vanuatu Under 19 National Team destined for Tahiti to play in the OFC U-19 Championship has missed one match due to travel visas.
The team could not travel as initially planned on the September 3rd due to a absense of New Zealand transit visas. The only visas received were entry approvals for Tahiti. The NZ entry approvals did not arrive in time.
A rescheduled flight was made for 7th September, however, they could not board due to the absense of NZ transit visas.
According to VFF Secretariat, the problem and reasons are beyond their control.
VFF attempted to charter Air Vanuatu to connect overseas ports and avoid visa issues but were not successful.
The U-19 team is scheduled to travel on Saturday 10th September, and will arrive on the 10th in Papeete to play their next match against Samoa on September 11th.
There are still chances to make it to the quarter finals if they win their next match.
