Penama Football Association (PFA) Development Officers (DO) are working hard with children around Panama after attending a training at the Northern Region Academy (NRA) in Luganville earlier this year.
The training at NRA was conducted after Vanuatu football merged the Just Play and Grassroots program in the hope that will see more collaboration of work and resources and also more effective in the outcome.
According to PFA administrator Jim Linvanue, “it is not always easy if you compare clubs in the urban and rural teams and facilities to sports wears, and boots, but a lot of effort has been put together and is needed from the community to develop football in Penama”, he said.
This afternoon the West Ambae league has boost the moral of the youths by awarding sports gears especially boots for training.
The Penama DO’s are Samsley Vanua and Jeremy who are responsible for Ambae, Hadson Bal looks after the football affairs of Maewo, and Radford Sine is the trainer for Pentecost.
VFF is committed to growing football at community and school level throughout Vanuatu and with support from OFC, they have developed a Grassroots and Just Play program which promotes physical activity for primary-aged children while encouraging community involvement and healthy living.
