Shefa firm on championship

Shefa province looks forward to an exciting competition as they will be part of the four provinces participating in the Southern region zone of the VFF National Youth League Championship at Teouma today.

Coach Rissa Albert said their preparation has been going on well and the players from U15 -U17 grade is excited.

“The Shefa province we have been training, all teams are training hard, we just going to give our best at the championship.

“This is a new introduced competition and we are excited to participate,” Albert said.

Some of the challenges the province go through was getting the players to one game venue.

“We always try our best to get these players to train and our biggest challenge was to try and get these players together,” he added.

240 youth players from 3 provinces in the Vanuatu Football Federation Southern Region zone are arriving in Port Vila this week for the VFF National Youth League Championship at Teouma.

VFF has zoned the 82 islands and 6 provinces of Vanuatu into 8 Member Associations and 2 conferences – Northern and Southern Region, and the tournament regulates a total of 640 players participating in the competition.

The Group B of the Southern Region boys and girls are Malampa, Shefa, Port Vila and Tafea Football Associations, and will play the preliminary stage of the Youth League Championship at the VFF Academy field from November 20-22.
