TAKARO WILL MISS THE QUARTER-FINAL MATCH

(Suva) – Vanuatu U-17 team captain Paul Takaro will not play in the quarter-final match against New Zealand on Sunday evening.

Takaro has received two bookings in the last two group matches, firstly in the match against Tahiti and again in the second match against Cook Islands.

Earlier, the Vanuatu Team Manager was informed that his captain could play since all group stage bookings would be cleared.

However, Manager Stephane Bong was informed again that he was wrongly advised earlier, and the first stage bookings will stand, meaning his captain will not be able to play the next match.

Paul Takaro had played very well in the group matches, and it is unfortunate that he will not be able to play in the quarter-finals.

Vanuatu are drawn to play New Zealand in the fourth quarter-finals on Sunday 22 January.
