The Vanuatu Football Federation (VFF), the governing body of football in Vanuatu, is committed to promoting and developing the game at all levels. As part of our ongoing efforts within the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS), VFF is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Coach – Boys U16 TDS Program.
We are looking for a motivated and dedicated coach who is passionate about player development and eager to work within a professional and structured football environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the FIFA Talent Coach and play a key role in the technical and personal growth of Vanuatu’s young footballers.
Position Title: Assistant Coach – Boys U16 TDS Program (Full-Time)
Department: VFF Technical Department
Reports to: Technical Director
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
About the Role
The Assistant Coach will support the FIFA Talent Coach in designing, delivering, and evaluating daily training sessions for the U16 Boys team. The position requires a proactive and collaborative individual who can contribute to the FIFA Talent Development methodology and assist in implementing Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for players.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-design, co-deliver, and co-review daily training sessions following the FIFA Talent Coach methodology.
- Maintain effective communication with the FIFA Talent Coach, players, academy staff, and other VFF coaches.
- Assist in designing and reviewing Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for selected players, updated at least three times per year.
- Work collaboratively with medical professionals, psychologists, and other stakeholders to promote player well-being.
- Support the FIFA Talent Coach during games, tournaments, and player evaluations.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Strong motivation and passion for football, with a desire to help develop future national players.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy (mandatory).
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow as a professional coach.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of individuals and organizations.
- Understanding of football culture and context in Vanuatu and the Pacific region.
- Experience coaching youth teams or managing football programs is desirable.
