The first 13 players of the Vanuatu senior men’s team have started their training already this morning at Ground 2 of the Churchill Park Stadium in Lautoka.
The group had left Port Vila early Friday 17 March, and have travelled to Fiji via Sydney, Australia, arriving in to Nadi last night.
National Head Coach Etienne Mermer, and Assistant Coaches Yelou Robert and Wilson August, are with the first group.
Team Vanuatu are staying at the Grand Melanesian Hotel in Namaka town, Nadi.
After a good breakfast, the team took the 45-minute bus drive to Lautoka for their first training session.
Meanwhile, the other group of Vanuatu players have travelled to Brisbane last night, and should be travelling again tonight expecting to arrive in to Fiji early Sunday morning 19 March.
They are travelling with the Team Manager, Mr. Carlo Nasse.
The Tri-Nations Friendship Cup Tournament starts at the Churchill Park Stadium in Lautoka on Monday, 20 March.
Solomon Islands (who have also arrived) will play the Fiji national U20 team in the opening match on Monday at 2pm, before Vanuatu play the Fiji national senior team at 5pm on the same day.
