A National pre squad selection is under going trainings this week at the Korman Stadium complex.
National Head Coach, Etienne Mermer said that the purpose of this session is to ensure all Member Association representatives get access to national training sessions as well.
About 30 players have been selected from each MA’s however Coach Mermer confirmed that both municipality MA’s will undergo trainings on a scheduled date due to committed programs this week.
He said that all players were scouted during the recent VFF National League competitions.
“One main purpose is for VFF to give back its service to MA’s upon requests from all MA presidents to ensure they have representatives participating in such development programs.
Coach Mermer said that so far, trainings are good with a lot finding it very interesting. He stated that it is a pathway for analyzing players for regional and international competition as well.
The one-week session is based mainly on ball possessions. He said that player development is one main factor into achieving this.
“How to link ball combination is vital. One week is not enough but the boys are catching up with the basics. PVFA is currently involved with its programs and hopefully we can later schedule a date. Once they are free, we will approach them”.
The National Coach said that it is very good to provide national trainings and services back to the MA’s as well to provide experiences and build up capacity as well.
