Vanuatu Football Federation is reviving back the beach soccer league with business houses in Port Vila for the remainder of 2020, at the Korman Beach Soccer field in Port Vila.
After some years burried in the sand, VFF decided to bring back the league involving business houses as a warm up platform to prepare for 2021 beach soccer league, and this will prepare athletes to compete in high level competitions.
In the past years, international competitions organised by Oceania Football Confederation was filled in by eleven outdoor players and this will change in the coming years.
Last time Vanuatu played beach soccer was at the 2019 OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup in Tahiti.
The 2019 OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup was the sixth edition of the OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup that was previously called the OFC Beach Soccer Championship.
The 2020 Beach Soccer Business House Championship is structured in two pools and in Pool A, we have our Police officers and our Medical team, Wilco Hardware company and the boys from Department of Foreign Affairs, the Vanuatu National Provident Fund and the Department of Fisheries.
In Pool B we have the VFF boys and the Department of Agriculture, the boys from Public Service Commission under the Prime Minister’s Office, the Falcons, Department of Customs and Inland Revenue, the energy company UNELCO and Reserve Bank of Vanuatu.
VFF is hoping to stage the Men’s Beach Soccer league in 2021 to prepare players for 11 outdoor and also high level competitions in Beach Soccer.
The best results Vanuatu came up with in the Oceania competition was at the nations cup as runners-up in 2006, 2007 and 2009.
